Water Leak Repair Service for Cars, Trucks and SUV’s
Aside
from
getting
you
wet,
water
leaks
can
and
do
cause
several
other
issues
ranging
from
an
annoying
mildew
odor
to
immense
electrical
problems.
It
isn’t
uncommon
to
have
a
minor
water
leak
to
go
unnoticed
for
a
long
period
of
time
because
the
carpet
in
a
vehicle
has
a
felt
insulation
pad
beneath
it
which
maybe
1/2
to
1
inch
thick.
Add
the
1/4
to
1/2
inch
thickness
of
the
carpet
to
it
and
it
means
that
by
the
time
you
see
water pooling up on your floor above the carpet it’s typically an inch deep or more.
If you feel you need an umbrella for your car, truck or SUV to drive it in the rain, diagnosing and repairing water leaks is
another of one of the many services we offer here at Phoenix Glass.
The
majority
of
customers
come
to
us
with
what
they
feel
is
a
leaking
windshield,
side
glass,
quarter
glass
or
rear
back
glass
window.
Truth
be
told
the
windows
are
not
usually
the
source
of
their
water
leaks.
If
we
look
at
10
suspected
windshield
water
leaks
only
about
1
or
2
of
them
actually
turn
out
to
be
the
windshield
and
the
same
goes
for
side,
quarter
and
rear
back
glass
windows.
There
are
numerous
other
paths
water
can
take
to
enter
your
vehicle
such
as
body
seams,
OnStar
antennas,
door
seals,
third
brake
lights
and
tail
lights
just
to
name
a
few.
Due
to
the
construction
of
most
cars,
trucks
and
SUV’s
many
of
these
leaks
will
exit
at
the
top
of
one
or
more
of
the
windows
such
as
your
windshield
or
back
glass.
In
others
all
that’s
seen
is
water pooling above the carpet.
Another
down
side
to
a
water
leak
in
your
car
or
truck
or
SUV
is
that
a
water
leak
can
also
cause
your
vehicles
body
panels
to
rust
from
the
inside
out
which
can
have
an
affect
on
the
structural
integrity
of
the
vehicles
body.
In
the
event
of
an
accident
it
could
lead
to
serious
injury
or
even
death
and at the very least some very expensive auto body repairs.
A
mildew
odor
in
your
car,
truck
or
SUV
can
be
one
of
the
tell
tail
signs
of
a
water
leak.
The
odor
is
usually
generated
by
mold
that
grows
in
your
carpet
and
its
padding
and
can
cause
some
serious
health
issues.
In
the
beginning
to
combat
an
odor
problem
in
a
vehicle
most
people
will
purchase
an
air
freshener
which
only
masks
the
real
problem
and
can
bring
about
many
other
problems.
Many
commercially available air fresheners on the market contain chemicals such as formaldehyde, xylene, and phenol which can and do cause
some
very
serious
physical
and,
believe
it
or
not,
psychological
health
issues
for
people.
There
are
some
natural
air
fresheners
that
are
people,
as
well
as
animal,
friendly
such
as
unscented
baking
soda
and
natural
(preferably
organic)
potpourri
that
are
safe
to
use.
The
best thing you can do when you find an odor in your car or truck is find the problem and have it remedied as soon as you can.
click the link below and it will take you to a video we have
posted on YouTube where you can watch us do a water test
on our Ford Ranger service truck. This water leak test video
was done on a pick up truck but you can apply the procedure
and methods to do a water leak test on any type of vehicle. If
you call us about a leak in one of these trucks the first thing
we’re going to ask you is, did you watch our video about it so
pay attention because there’s going to be a test lol
